BAPTISM
We read in the Bible that people were baptized because they wanted to publicly testify to their faith and their discipleship with Jesus. Baptism is a testimony of new life in Christ and personal faith in God.
If you would like to know more about baptism, you can attend the next baptism course (on the 5th Sunday of the month). Attending the course is not yet registration for baptism.
We will make an appointment after you have attended the baptism course. We have a baptismal font or Lake Thun available for the baptism.
The fact that we as a church bless children is based on our understanding that it is not baptism itself that saves, but that it is an expression and testimony of faith. However, a small child cannot yet profess its faith itself. That is why we base the blessing of children on the example of Jesus, who called children to himself and blessed them.
The blessing of a child is also a special moment for the parents. They consciously bring their child before God and ask him to watch over his life and bless his path through life. At the same time, we pray together for the parents and ask for God’s blessing, protection and wisdom for their task.
The blessing of children takes place as part of our church services. Parents can register their child for this at any time.
You’ve just started dating but can already imagine a future together with marriage and a family but don’t know exactly what your next steps are? This is exactly where the friendship course comes in and gives you some valuable skills for life as a couple.
The following topics await you: Who am I and where do I come from? Developing a sense of WE. Developing independence. Dealing with initial conflicts.
Make the most of this opportunity and put your relationship on a solid footing. Make realistic and joint plans for the future and learn what it means to make a solid start to a shared future.

As a couple, do you want your love to last a lifetime? Then good preparation is an absolute game changer! In this course, you’ll learn a lot about what it takes to get off to a good start and to make it through the marriage journey together. Incidentally, this course does not end with the wedding – we also meet after the big day to tackle common hurdles.
The following topics await you: Communication, Commitment, Dealing with Conflicts, Growing Love, Shared Values & Goals.
Each couple also fills out a questionnaire in advance of the marriage preparation course. This then also indicates the focus of the choice of topics.
